Thermal Imaging

Temperature is one of the first observable parameters that can indicate the operating condition of electrical or mechanical equipment.

Infrared Thermography is simply a picture of heat that allows us to assess the condition of these electrical and mechanical systems

Managing Risk with Thermographic Testing

Infrared Thermal Imaging (Thermography) is a powerful risk management tool for insurance coverage purposes. Undertaking regular thermal imaging allows for early detection and repair of electrical problems, greatly reducing the risk to equipment and property damage but, more importantly when done regularly, it can also lessen the risk of personal injury.

Most Insurance companies recognise that reduced risk combined with reduced loss result in fewer insurance claims, making your premiums more competitive and increasing your profits

How does Thermographic Testing Work?

Our qualified technicians use the latest in infrared (Thermographic) technology to scan live electrical equipment and mechanical systems to show a picture of heat, which enables our technicians to immediately identify the location of loose or corroded electrical connections, before they become serious enough to catch fire or damage any equipment.

By scanning mechanical systems for any heat anomalies which may indicate adnominal wear, deterioration, or potential failure the Edz Electrical team can flag systems requiring capital replacement or repair before they become unmanageable, without any interruption to site operations.

Advantages of Regular Infrared Inspections

There are many advantages for organisations undertaking regular infrared inspections including:

  • Reduced operational downtime.
  • The ability to budget for repairs and maintenance (CAPEX & OPEX).
  • Reduced Risk to people and property.
  • Fewer insurance claims and better premiums.

Reporting and Analysis

As part of our Thermographic Services, Edz Electrical can provide a comprehensive range of detailed thermal analytics.

We can also customise the level of reporting and analysis based on the demands of your business and requirements of your key stakeholders.

All of reports include:

  • Detailed list of the equipment scanned in high quality, full colour reports
  • Infrared photos and reference images for any hot spots found.
  • Recommended action plans prioritised in order of urgency.

How Often Does Equipment Have to be Scanned?

EDZ Electrical recommends that equipment is scanned annually or biannually to reduce the risk of damage to assets and property.
